Film Grades
Astro Films has two BOPET (Biaxially Oriented Polyethylene Terephthalate) production lines from Bruckner (Germany), both installed at our Port Qasim facility. The first 6.7 meter line was commissioned in 2011, whereas the latest addition is the state-of the-art 8.7 meter Bruckner line installed in October 2020. The two lines have a combined production capacity of 54,000 tons/annum, capable of producing BOPET films in thicknesses ranging from 9u-170u.
BOPET film’s inherent qualities include high tensile strength, dimensional stability, excellent clarity and gloss, thermal resistance, low oxygen permeability and chemical inertness.
